I will try as much as possible to give you a full review of this camera, covering all aspects that are of importance in answering that question.

The big question at the end of the day will be whether to upgrade to this camera or not? You will get smoother footage from rugged situations. Many people were expecting to see an 8K resolution in this camera.įlowstate stabilization has been made even better with the One X2.
It is a bit disappointing to see that Insta 360 did not attempt to improve on the video resolution count of the new camera. This is the exact maximum resolution we get with both the One R and One X. The camera shoots 360-degree videos with a maximum resolution of 5.7K. The One X2 has a new circular touch screen display which is an improvement from the small LCD screen that was there with the One X. Insta360 claims that the battery that powers the X2 is 55% more enhanced than what we had with the One X.Īs usual, I tested out everything about the battery and I have highlighted my review on the same in the Battery section of this post.

Very sad, camera is OK, software is crap. This looks like untested software written by students… I am not talking about UX - this is different story. you started to export hundred files - have to wait till the end). If you use nadir icon from the file with cyrillic name it shows it in Studio but inserts just random image with non-cyrillic name in exported ipeg (and creates bunch of files including video in the camera folder dated so you accidentally can be out of space). insp file from camera into the folder with cyrillic name Studio says “file is corrupt”. Just to give you impression - if you copy. Knowing that my trust in the software by Insta360 is at the lowest point possible. I found couple of serious bugs in the Studio (their app for PC) - I could not imagine that company like Insta360 can have such bugs in their software. Very inconvenient.ĭo you want to use software of that quality? Me - not. Today I found “workaround” to my WiFi problem - if I am not able to connect via WiFi, I remove app completely (stopping app does not help), reinstall it from App Store and then it works (for some time). If you are lucky and it shows the message “Connecting to the previous camera…” - this message is shown forever (even if no connection attempts are currently made). I never ever was able to watch my video in app - it just crashes… Photos are ok.Īpp interface has very low quality - when you cannot connect it is just silent, you press the button “connect” - nothing happens. But even in the street sometimes it looses connection and thats it - you just have to stop using camera or switch to cable… Then I found out that it can connect in the street - cannot understand why (support is silent). App says “wrong password” while it is definitely correct. No luck at all (support is another issue - almost helpless).
I purchased camera and on day one I could not connect to camera via WiFI, cable connection was OK. In general - you cannot use camera without software (technically can but in real life - can not).
